Surendro is the Regional Senior Programme Manager for the UCAP CAI Programme (Southeast Asia) at C40 Cities. In this role, he provides structured guidance for climate action mainstreaming and implementation across three cities in the Southeast Asia region. He is instrumental in translating organisational strategies and city priority actions into annual work plans and oversees programme monitoring, evaluation, and reporting for the region. Surendro has successfully facilitated decarbonisation workshops with city delegations from various countries, including Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America. He also works with cities on strategies for mainstreaming climate action within city organisations or embedding climate considerations in every city governance process. His expertise lies in leading diverse teams and collaborating with various stakeholders from the private sector, academia, and city officials. He will share C40’s experience in mobilising mayors and city leaders to take decisive action against the climate crisis, highlighting successful initiatives, policies, and collaborative platforms that foster sustainable cities and communities.
