Nick Wright joined Sarawak Energy in June 2010. As Vice President of Business Development, he led the negotiation of the Power Exchange Agreement with Indonesian national utility Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) governing the interconnection between Sarawak and West Kalimantan, which commenced operations in early 2016.
He is also leading the negotiation of similar agreements for Sarawak to export power to Brunei and Sabah, and recently closed a deal with Malaysia’s national oil company PETRONAS to supply 250 million standard cubic feet a day of natural gas to Sarawak.
For the four years prior to joining Sarawak Energy, Nick was the Senior Advisor for Energy, Water and Mining to the Minister for Energy and Resources, Tasmania.
Nick holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Business, University of New England. He also has a Bachelor of Arts (with First Class Honours) in Government and Economic Policy, as well as a Bachelor of Laws, from University of Tasmania.
