The Honourable Dato Haji Ibrahim bin Haji Baki serves as Deputy Minister for Utility (Sarawak Energy and PETROS) Sarawak and Chairman of Sarawak Energy, Malaysia’s largest renewable energy developer and producer.
Dato Haji Ibrahim is a well-respected corporate figure and legal professional with over three decades of experience across various industries including engineering services, property development, manufacturing, shipping and media.
Dato Haji Ibrahim began his career as a Legal Officer at PETRONAS in 1984, before co-founding the law firm Messrs Idris Buang, Ibrahim Baki & Co in Sarawak. In August 2020, he was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director at PETRONAS. He was previously appointed by Majlis Amanah Rakyat as a board member of Furniture Industry Technology Center and was the Chairman of Supreme Consolidated Resources Berhad. He also played a significant role in the shipping and logistics industry and was appointed as the executive chairman of local shipping giant, Hubline Bhd in 2017 (previously Eastern Oxygen Berhad).
Dato Haji Ibrahim has also served as a commission member of Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (Companies Commission of Malaysia).
A legal professional by training, he holds an LL.B (Hons) from the United Kingdom and is a Barrister-at-Law from Lincoln’s Inn. Dato Haji Ibrahim is the Sarawak State Assemblyman for Satok.
