The Right Honourable Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof is the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), where he leads the nation’s efforts towards a sustainable, secure and inclusive energy future.
On 3 December 2022, he became the first Deputy Prime Minister from Borneo, marking a historic milestone that reflects Malaysia’s commitment to unity and inclusivity. A lawyer by training with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Malaya, he has dedicated his career to public service, representing Petra Jaya in Parliament across multiple terms.
Throughout his career, The Right Honourable Dato’ Sri Fadillah has held key ministerial roles including Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation; Minister of Works; Senior Minister of Works; and Minister of Plantation and Commodities. In these portfolios, he championed sustainable development, modernisation of infrastructure and innovation-driven growth.
Today, as Minister of PETRA, he is at the forefront of Malaysia’s energy transition – advancing renewable energy, enhancing energy security and steering policies aligned with global climate goals. Under his leadership, PETRA is driving Malaysia’s ambition to achieve net-zero emissions, foster clean technology innovation and ensure all Malaysians benefit from a greener economy.
